Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This Privacy Policy explains how MyTruckk.com Solutions Private Limited (“MyTruckk”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the MyTruckk (shipper app), the MyTruckk Move (driver app), and this website (together, the “Services”). It is published in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011 (“SPDI Rules”). Your use of the Services is also governed by our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
MyTruckk is a freight marketplace in India that connects shippers who need goods moved with truck owners and drivers who move them. MyTruckk.com Solutions Private Limited is the Data Fiduciary responsible for your personal data. Our registered address is:
MyTruckk.com Solutions Private LimitedRegus UB CityLevel 15, Concord TowerBangalore 560 001Karnataka, IndiaFor any privacy question, email hello@mytruckk.com.
2. Personal data we collect
2.1 Account and profile information
- Your name, email address, mobile number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Your role (shipper, driver or truck owner), company or business name and business contact details.
- If you are a truck owner who invites drivers to your fleet, the mobile numbers of the drivers you invite. We use these only to send the invitation.
- Notification preferences and how you heard about us.
2.2 Identity and KYC documents
To keep the marketplace safe and to meet payment and legal requirements, we ask you to verify your identity. Depending on your role, this may include photos or scans (front and back where needed) of your Aadhaar, PAN card, driving licence and GSTIN certificate, together with details such as document numbers, names and expiry dates.
The apps can read text from a document photo to pre-fill these details for you. This text recognition runs on your device (using Google ML Kit); the photo is not sent to Google for this purpose. You can review and correct the extracted details before submitting. Our verification team reviews the documents you submit and records whether each one is approved or rejected.
2.3 Vehicle information
For trucks, we collect the registration number, truck type, capacity and year of manufacture, photos of the truck and its number plate, and vehicle documents such as the registration certificate (RC), insurance, fitness certificate and permits.
2.4 Location
Drivers (driver app): when you are the assigned driver on a load and the trip is in progress, the driver app collects your device’s precise GPS location about every 30 seconds, or when the vehicle moves about 20 metres. This continues when the app is closed, in the background, or the screen is off, so that the shipper can see where their goods are and receive pickup, delivery and arrival updates. On Android a persistent notification (“MyTruckk is tracking your location”) is shown while this is active, and on iOS the system location indicator is shown. Tracking starts only for an active trip assigned to you and stops when the trip ends or you sign out. We do not collect your location in the background at any other time. The driver app may also use your location while it is open to show your position on the map. You can deny or revoke location permission in your device settings, but live trip tracking, which shippers rely on, will then not work.
Shippers (shipper app): if you allow it, the shipper app uses your location only while the app is open, to centre the map when you choose a pickup or drop-off point. It does not collect location in the background.
2.5 Loads, trips and ratings
Details of the loads you post or carry: pickup and drop-off addresses, the names and phone numbers of pickup and delivery contacts you give us, goods description, weight, photos and attachments of the goods, quotes and prices, trip milestones (such as arrival, loading and delivery), and the ratings and reviews that shippers, drivers and truck owners leave for each other.
2.6 Payments, bank and payout details
- Shippers: payments are made through Razorpay. Your card, UPI or net-banking details are entered with and processed by Razorpay; we do not store your full card details. We keep records of payments, escrow holds, refunds and invoices.
- Drivers and truck owners: to receive payouts we collect your bank account number, IFSC code, bank name, account holder (beneficiary) name, PAN, GSTIN (if any), business type and name, and city, state and postal code, along with your email and phone. We also keep a ledger of earnings, commissions, fuel advances and payouts.
2.7 Communications
Messages and images you send to our support team through in-app chat, emails and calls with us, and records of the notifications, SMS messages and one-time passwords we send you.
2.8 Photos, camera and files
The apps access your camera, photo library or files only when you choose to take or attach a photo or document (for example a KYC document, a truck photo, a photo of goods or a support screenshot). Only the items you select are uploaded.
2.9 Device and usage information
- A push-notification token for your device, your device platform and the app version.
- Crash reports and diagnostics (device model, operating system, error details and the screens involved), linked to your internal user ID and role.
- IP address, connection status, sign-in activity and server logs needed to run and secure the Services.
2.10 Website analytics and cookies
On this website we use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, clicks and scrolling (including heatmaps), page performance, errors, browser and device type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and your chosen language and region. PostHog stores an identifier in a cookie and your browser’s local storage. We also use Vercel Web Analytics, which reports aggregated traffic without cookies. We set our own cookies to remember your language (NEXT_LOCALE) and region (myt_region). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work.
3. How we use your personal data
- To create and manage your account, and to sign you in securely.
- To verify identities, documents and vehicles, and to prevent fraud and misuse.
- To match loads with drivers and trucks, manage quotes, and run trips from pickup to delivery.
- To show shippers live trip location, milestones and estimated arrival times.
- To collect payments, hold funds in escrow, and pay out drivers and truck owners.
- To send service messages by push notification, SMS and email.
- To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- To keep the Services secure, fix crashes and improve performance.
- To meet our legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
4. Legal basis and consent
We process your personal data on the basis of the consent you give when you create an account and grant app permissions (such as location and camera), and for the “legitimate uses” permitted under Section 7 of the DPDP Act, including processing data you voluntarily provide for a specific purpose and complying with law. You can withdraw your consent at any time (see Section 9). Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that happened before, and some Services — for example live trip tracking or payouts — cannot work without the related data.
6. How long we keep your data
- Account, profile and vehicle data: for as long as your account is active.
- Payment, escrow, payout, invoice and tax records: for the period required by Indian tax, accounting and company law (generally up to eight years), even after your account is closed.
- KYC documents and verification records: while your account is active and afterwards only as long as required by law or to resolve disputes.
- Trip location history: for as long as needed to complete the trip, handle disputes and claims, and meet legal obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
- Support chats and communications: as long as needed to resolve your request and any follow-up.
- Logs and crash reports: for a limited period, typically a few months.
When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it so that it no longer identifies you.
7. Security
We use reasonable security practices as required by the SPDI Rules, including encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, hashed passwords, secure storage of sign-in tokens on your device, role-based access controls so that only authorised staff can view KYC documents and bank details, and audit logs of administrative actions. No system is completely secure; if a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board of India as required by law.
8. Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we process it, and the identities of those we have shared it with.
- Correct and update inaccurate or incomplete data. Much of your profile can be edited in the app.
- Erase your data, subject to what we must keep by law (see Section 10).
- Withdraw consent at any time.
- Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become incapacitated.
- Grievance redressal through our Grievance Officer (Section 14), and to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@mytruckk.com from the email address registered to your account. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request.
9. Withdrawing consent and controlling permissions
You can turn off location, camera, photo and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. To withdraw consent to our processing of your personal data more generally, email hello@mytruckk.com. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide some or all of the Services to you.
10. Deleting your account
You can ask us to delete your MyTruckk account and associated personal data at any time. To do so, email hello@mytruckk.com from the email address registered to your account with the subject “Account deletion request”, and tell us which app you use (shipper or driver) and the mobile number on the account. We will verify the request and confirm by email once your account has been deleted.
Before deletion, any trip in progress must be completed or cancelled and any pending payment or payout settled. After deletion, we keep only the data we are legally required to retain — such as payment, payout, invoice and tax records — or need to resolve an open dispute, for the periods described in Section 6. Ratings you gave others may remain in anonymised form.
11. Children
The Services are intended only for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact hello@mytruckk.com and we will delete it.
12. International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside India — for example PostHog in the European Union, and Sentry, Mapbox, Resend, Google and Vercel in the United States or other countries. When this happens, we transfer only the data each provider needs, rely on providers with appropriate security commitments, and do not transfer personal data to any country restricted by the Government of India under the DPDP Act.
13. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will change the “Last updated” date above and, for significant changes, notify you in the apps or by email before they take effect.
14. Contact us and Grievance Officer
